Winds of Winter: George R.R. Martin Teases a Chapter on Arianne Martell’s Point Of View, Yet to Decide on Introducing a Shocking Twist!

Fans are always ready to ask George R.R Martin as to when he will be finishing the highly anticipated sixth installment in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, Winds of Winter.

Recently, he was present in the Sasquan science-fiction convention in Spokane, Washington and he humorously declared that no one should ask him about when his book is going to be finished or else would ask his minions to lop their heads off! With so much head-lopping going on in Game of Thrones, let’s just believe him at the moment.

He was asked by GeekWire whether it is possible that eight-season Game of Thrones series by Dan Weiss and David Benioff will release its last episode even before he finishes the concluding book. To this, Old Georgie replied, teasing fans further in the process that “Anything is possible”. He further continued that the show keeps moving forward like a locomotive and sometimes more like a jet locomotive. He made a comparison that ‘they’ are writing 60-page manuscripts while he is writing a 1500 page novel. He declared, “So, who the hell knows?”

He acknowledged the fact that there was a time when he was truly worried that the show might catch up to his writing. He went forward and decided to relate that experience. He ultimately decided that “to hell with that”.

He prepared his mind that worried about something like that wouldn’t bring him a proper solution or a conclusion. He was quoted saying, “I still sit down at the typewriter, and I have to write the next scene and the next sentence … I’m just going to tell my story, and they’re telling their story and adapting my books, and we shall see.”

Moreover, while he was writing the book, he decided that he should introduce a completely unexpected twist involving a long-time character and teased the fact, declaring that it would drive the ‘readers crazy’. He further stated that this particular revelation will involve three or more characters but the entire reveal will be organic and natural and it won’t be “shocking for just being shocking”.

However, he might finally decide not to mess up his fans anymore (Yes, I know, I know, I still can’t believe it) as he hasn’t declared whether he should go up with this ‘drive readers crazy’ idea or not.

However, he declared that this will never be seen in the Game of Thrones HBO TV series as the fate of the particular character has already been decided by producers. The supporters keep waiting but it seems like Martin is also developing a new HBO series called ‘Captain Cosmos’, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

In the meantime, the best-selling author has confirmed that Stannis Baratheon will return in the sixth installment of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series. There are also reports that a chapter from ‘Winds of Winter’ will showcase a point of view from Arianne Martell, the Princess of Dorne.

George R.R Martin is definitely not ready to discuss about the release date of his next novel but he decide to excite his fans a bit at the Sasquan Science-Fiction Convention in Spokane Washington. He read a chapter from his upcoming book and according to GeekWire, the recently revealed part was written from the point of view of Arianne Martell.

This character is considered to be the Princess of Dorne but she hasn’t been introduced in HBO’s hit TV Series, Game of Thrones yet. News Every Day reports that she is the heiress of Sunspear and the eldest daughter of Prince Doran and was supposed to marry Viserys Targaryen.
