Transformers 5: Wahlberg Confirms His Presence, Plot To Be Based In Both Space And Earth, Kid Gets A Transformers Cake!

Transformers 5 news and updates refuse to die down even though there is no official news from Paramount Pictures on the subject. Transformers 5 is expected to be out in 2017. Ever since the massive success of Transformers: Age of Extinction, Paramount is going all out to make Transformers 5 bigger and better.

Michael Bay had decided to quit the Transformers franchise after the last movie. He wanted to move on and focus on the other projects that he had. There were reports that Paramount Pictures has brought in Jonathan Liebesman to fill in Michael Bay’s place, but there are reports that Bay is back on Transformers 5.

Paramount Pictures seems to have realized that in order to continue with the successful franchise, the film will need the Midas touch of the award-winning director. Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that Bay is currently shooting at Benghazi for a period drama and the two of them will sit with the script once he is back in L.A.

There are no official confirmations about the cast of Transformers 5 yet. Mark Wahlberg who was part of Transformers: Age of Extinction had informed Collider that he will be returning for Transformers 5 as well. There is no news about who else will be joining him.

Megan Fox, who had been part of the initial few Transformers movies, had expressed a keen desire on wanting to come back to the franchise. Megan Fox and her co-star Shia LeBeouf had had a tiff with Michael Bay on the sets of Transformers.

Megan Fox had gone on record to state that she thinks that Michael Bay is like a dictator because of the way he treats everyone on the sets and this had created bad-blood between them. Megan Fox was removed from the franchise as well.

Megan Fox and Michael Bay had since then sorted out their differences and Michael Bay had also directed Megan in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, Megan had made it very clear that she will be a part of the Transformers franchise only of she is joined by her co-star Shia LeBeouf. Shia LeBeouf had recently been featured in a video where he trashed Transformers and ever since the video went viral, it doesn’t seem like Paramount Pictures is going to be keen on casting him in their upcoming film.

Paramount Pictures is going all out to make sure that Transformers 5 is the biggest film from the studio. They have hired award-winning script writer, Akiva Goldsman, who is known for his work in A Beautiful Mind, Lost in Space and I, Robot.

Akiva Goldsman has in his team writers like Ken Nolan, Lindsey Beer, Gabriel Ferrari, Robert Kirkman, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum to name a few. The writing team is trying to come up with a script for the fifth installment of the franchise that is going to be true to the history of the franchise and still give the fans new things to think about.

There are speculations that the script for Transformers 5 will see Optimus Prime leaving for space where he will meet the creators of the Autobots, Quintessons. Optimus Prime will talk to them about their plans to end humanity. The plot is going to be based on both earth and space if the rumors are to be believed.

With Optimus Prime heading out to space, it will be his second-in-command, Ultra Magnus, who will be at the helm of affairs in earth. There are rumors that the upcoming film might have the much anticipated face-off between Optimus Prime and Unicron, the father of the Decepticons.
