Recently, Apple released iOS 8.2 which came with a large number of bug fixes. It also includes the support for Apple Watch. In case you are wondering how to jailbreak your iPhone and iPad in light of the recent update, here’s what you need to know. A few weeks ago iOS 8.1.2 was released and officially patched up the TaiG iOS 8 jailbreaks.
Unfortunately, these patches carry over to iOS 8.2. In Apple’s website, a support page has identified TaiG jailbreak team as a source of security vulnerability. It was due to this that Apple patched up the 8.1.3 version. As a result, 8.1.3 is unbreakable and the patches carry forward to their extension, iOS 8.2.
MuscleNerd, another Jailbreak developer, has alerted all jailbreakers to keep their distance from iOS 8.2. Since it is not jailbreakable yet, you need to stay away from an iOS 8.2 update, in case your 8.1.3 version is jailbroken. Update your device and the jailbreak will disappear. Till now, there is no official news as to when iOS 8.2 jailbreak will release. However, it is expected to be quite soon as the iOS 8.2 jailbreak is looking optimistic. The TaiG team already has a jailbreak available for the 1 and 2 Beta versions of iOS 8.2.
Since then, there have been many new betas but Apple has officially denied all access to the 1 and 2 versions. However, good news is that Apple hasn’t patched up those betas, so iOS 8.2 jailbreak is not impossible. On the TaiG website, it has been stated that the untethered jailbreak support for iOS 8.2 is complete. Apple could patch up the current iOS exploits that are being used. In that case, TaiG team might already have newer exploits required to crack iOS 8.2.
Once the official version of the iOS 8.2 jailbreak releases, you’ll be free to upgrade your device to it. However, until then, you better hang on to your older update. Of course, it’s your preference, and you may choose to do as you wish.
Usually, it is recommended that you update your device to the latest official update since they come with a lot of bug and security fixes. Keep in mind that with the release of a fresh jailbreak, not all features might work properly. As a result, it is recommended that you wait longer so that all the latest tweaks get updated to iOS 8.2.
