The Witcher 3: Heart Of Stones DLC Released; New DLC Coming; Nominated For The Game Of The Year, And More

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a third-person action role playing game developed by CD Projekt RED and released earlier this year on 19th May. The game is set in an open-world environment and is the third installment in the popular The Witcher series of games.

The Witcher 3 is one of the most successful games developed by CD Projekt RED with over 6 million copies of the game sold till date.

The Witcher games are created based on a series of fantasy novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski.

The Heart of Stones DLC for The Witcher 3 was previously released by the developers and it worked towards fixing certain bugs in the game and also added some new aspects to the game.

The Hearts of Stones DlC was released in October and it was the first paid DLC released by CD Projekt RED for The Witcher 3. It came with a moderate price tag of %9.99.

The Hearts of Stones DLC came with new missions for the protagonist of the game, Geralt and also gave the chance to players to further explore the game in more detail.

The DLC brought forth an additional 10 hours of gameplay. It introduced certain new characters to the game namely Olgierd von Everec, an immortal man without any emotions or feelings whatsoever, his brother Vlodomir who appears in the form of a ghost. Shani, a character previously introduced in earlier Witcher games makes her first appearance in The Witcher 3 in this expansion.

Geralt also comes across a new mysterious character by the name of Gaunter O’Dimm in the Hearts of Stones expansion.

Another DLC for the game has been announced by the developers and this update is being called Blood and Wine.

At the PAX Australia 2015, narrative designer of CD Projekt RED, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz announced that the update will be released sometime in 2016.

There has been no official announcement regarding the content of the new DLC yet, but according to a popular website, the DLC will bring forth an addition of new characters to the game. These additional characters will come straight out of the novels written by Andrzej Sapkwoski.

New mod kits will also be made available to players through the DLC.

A new line of story will be unveiled in the game through the Blood and Wine update. The update will reportedly come with an additional 20 hours of gameplay as opposed to the Hearts of Stone update which came with 10 hours of gameplay.

It is being speculated that the upcoming update will add characters like sorceress Fringilla Vigo who was the former love interest of Geralt, the protagonist of the game, and Duchess Anna Hentietta. The expansion is supposed to take place in a new place called the Kingdom of Toussaint.

Community Manager for CD Projekt RED, Marcin Momot stated that players can expect to see new monsters added to the game via the update. The expansion pack will feature monsters like Manticore and Stringas and new breeds of horses that could be used by players in the game.

It was stated by a representative of CD Projekt RED that the developers will be coming forward with more concrete news regarding the release date of Blood and Wine in the future.

In other news regarding the game, the cool Super Turbo Lightning Mod for the game which was released in September is set to receive an update that will work towards enhancing the Mod further and introducing a number of tweaks to it at the same time.
