Ned Stark of Game of Thrones once kept saying, ‘Winter is Coming’ and right now, it’s already here. With the winter making its entry, there is no sign of the smartphone rivalry between various companies cooling down. Instead, the battle is getting heated up and will continue to do so as we progress into 2016.
Samsung should get ready to face a lot since Apple has already released their 6S iPhones and there’s a lot more coming from HTC and LG with Google’s Nexus 6P smartphones as well. Samsung clearly managed to impress us with the Galaxy S6 and details of an upcoming Galaxy S7 is slowly beginning to surface.
There are a lot of leaked details about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and they are slowly starting to come out. There are reports which indicate the use of a revolutionary image sensor along with speculations suggesting a January release date.
Following the trends of Samsung Galaxy S4, S5 and S6 releases, we should be seeing the upcoming S7 around March or April. The present rumors indicate that Galaxy S7 will be making its debut as soon as 19th January.
According to the Korean media outlets, the Samsung Galaxy S7 should release by late February. Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) ran from 22-25th February and at this event, two main iterations of Samsung Galaxy Flagships were both announced.
A Korean outlet revealed Samsung Galaxy S7 will be launched on 19th January, which indicates an official announcement before the MWC.
Meanwhile, the price of the upcoming Galaxy S7 will totally depend on the kind of specs that have been packed into this device. The Galaxy S5 had a launching price of £550 and compared to that, the Galaxy S6 came at a price of £599.
Therefore, it is expected that the Galaxy S7 will have an introductory price of £650. However, if things turn out favorably, Samsung might even decide to price this device around the £599 mark or a £550 price tag.
Meanwhile, Pan Jiutang, a Chinese Tech analyst, claimed that the upcoming device will cost around 10% less than Samsung Galaxy S6.
If the rumors turn out to be true, the device should be cost around £539. It is recommended that you take these rumors with a pinch of salt. On a cheerful note, Samsung will be competing with premium devices from Apple along with various mid-level competitors, once the Galaxy S7 releases.
In the meantime, a credible and reputed tipster declared that Samsung Galaxy S7 would be releasing on 21st February but according to earlier rumors, the release date is great level of confusion surrounding the release date. The months that have been rumored to contain the release dates from Galaxy S7 are January, February, and March.
The credible tipster however, is pretty sure about February. The Galaxy S6 was launched on 1st March this year and if these reports from trustworthy tipster @Ricciolo1 turn out to be true, the Galaxy S7 will simply launch eight days earlier, on 21st February 2016. Reports indicate that the handset will come with two different variants.
It will house Samsung’s new Exynos 8890 processor, also known as the Exynos M1. This will be the processor, powering one of its variants while Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC will be powering the other variant.
The Galaxy S7 will have a 5.7inch or a 5.8inch display. There is also a rumored 5.2inch device to be under development.
It will be designed for those who like their smartphones to be handy. The upcoming device will feature a magnesium alloy body.
Compared to the Aluminum series 6013 used in the Galaxy S6, the alloy in Galaxy S7 will be significantly stronger. The device will come with a combination of magnesium and glass materials.
