The Expendables 4: Jackie Chan Turns Down Offer, Set to Release in 2016, And More News

The Expendables 4 has rumours circulating, which tends to be a little confusing for the fans. With the production process yet to start, the buzz surrounding the film can already give an idea of how well received the franchise is.

Yes, The Expendables 3 did have a crappy ticket sales and wasn’t as big a hit as the previous two instalments, but industry experts blame that on the PG13 tag. This time round, Sylvester Stallone and Patrick Hughes are not leaving any stones unturned to make The Expendables 4 a massive hit.

It is believed that Sylvester Stallone approached legendary martial arts star Jackie Chan to be a part of the film, but Chan had reportedly turned down the offer. He had, however, expressed a keen interest in working with Stallone on a personal project. Given the busy schedules of both the action stars, such a project will be a difficult thing to come by.

Rumour mills were doing the rounds saying that Jason Statham, who had been a part of all The Expendable movies wouldn’t be a part of The Expendables 4 because Jason Bieber was being considered for it in the role of a villain. He supposedly said that Bieber doesn’t have what it takes to be part of an action film and isn’t cut out to be a villain in such a franchise.

Statham, who plays the role of Lee Christmas, has denied saying that he wouldn’t be part of The Expendables 4 cast. He said that he believes it is a privilege to work on a project where one is directed, produced and has the opportunity to work with the legendary Sylvester Stallone. In an interview to Franchise Herald, Statham said that those who love action films will understand the magnitude of watching and working in one with Stallone.

Statham looks like quite the fanboy, but then who can blame him!
