In a Q and A session on Twitter Wan spoke about using the aspect of the two girls haunting from the Enfield Poltergeist case and infusing it with the drama of house haunting from the Amityville case. Wan said that these two were the most documented paranormal cases in the world and hence he decided to showcase them in his upcoming film.
Wan had made it very clear that he didn’t want the Warrens to deal with just the Amityville case in The Conjuring 2. He said that the above case has been dealt with in numerous platforms and the novelty of the same has reduced over a period of time.
He felt that the Enfield Poltergeist case was similar to the other case, and since it enjoyed a lot of publicity as well, he decided to explore certain aspects from both the cases.
Fans have always wondered if Wan is a believer of the supernatural and according to Euro News he does believe in these activities even if there are no concrete data available on the same.
Wan went ahead to state that just because something is not visible, doesn’t mean that it is not happening in reality. He joked about the fact that he has not witnessed any such paranormal activities on his own. If that would have happened, he would have been too terrified to continue working with horror films.
The Conjuring 2 will be out in the theatres on the 10th of June.
