The 2013 horror film is back with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The Conjuring 2 is going to follow the demonologists Ed Warren and Lorraine Warren as the travel to London to tackle malicious spirits. This time the movie is said to be focused on the Enfield Poltergeist and Amityville cases.
According to Movie News Guide, Patrick Wilson revealed that apart from heading back to research like he did for The Conjuring, he also spoke to Ed Warren. Wilson also sat down with Warren’s son-in-law Tony Spiro who is very close to Warren in order to find out the eccentricities that Warren would resort to, so that he could portray the character to perfection.
The Amityville case that The Conjuring 2 will be dealing with was a huge affair and created a lot of controversies. It was this very reason that interested director James Wan to include the incident in his upcoming film. Wan is not scared of controversies and given the sensitive nature of the Amityville case, he decided it would be his big ticket to success.
The Amityville case involves the DeFeo murders, which took place at a house located at 112 Ocean Avenue, where a man had murdered his entire family. The house remained empty for almost 13 months until it was occupied by the Lutz’s family.
They, however, couldn’t continue in their new home since they reported scary paranormal activities. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this case because there are claims that the event was fabricated.
The Conjuring 2 as reported by Yahoo! Movies, is going to explore Ed and Lorraine Warren’s relationship and struggles. This was explored to some extent in The Conjuring, and the upcoming film will delve deeper to look into Lorraine’s struggles as she feels that solving these paranormal cases takes a toll on her and she doesn’t want to continue with the same.

The first official trailer of the James Wan directed horror film has garnered 7.3 million views on YouTube and Facebook.

The poltergeist seemed to have possessed one of the girls and is after their life. The preview is hair-raisingly scary and will be a treat for the fans of this genre of films.
News Everyday has reported that the story for the film has been borrowed from a true event known as the Enfield Poltergeist, where Peggy Hodsen (Frances O’ Connor) watches one of her daughters being possessed and anguished by an evil spirit.
The trailer also brings to light the torment that Lorraine has to undergo because of the premonitions. She has visions of the possessed, which take a toll on her mental peace as well as her physical health. She feels the anguish without being possessed, which makes her gift her biggest curse.
