Rumored specifications regarding Samsung’s flagship models of S7 and S7 Edge are doing rounds on the internet.

The Screen of the S7 and S7 Edge models is most likely going to be like its predecessors, the S5 and the S6, a 5.1 inch touch screen. The S7 models will sport a Super AMOLED screen which will support QHD resolutions. The models will probably incorporate notifications on the side of the screen where the curved edge is.

The resolution of the screen will be upgraded to 4K or Ultra HD (2160 x 3840 pixels).

The models will reportedly have anything between a 16 to 21 megapixels rear camera along with a front camera of 8 megapixels. Where other manufacturers have chosen to upgrade the resolution of the camera in their phones, Samsung has chosen to improve the 16mp sensor and add new features like optical stabilization to their phone’s cameras. It is being assumed that the S7 will support the same resolution.

According to Tech Radar, the Galaxy S7 may also include a depth camera along with the traditional RGB.

According to some sources Samsung might use the Exynos processor which is used in the Galaxy S6 or it may even choose to go with the Qualcomm processor for its S7 models. Samsung may wait for the upcoming Snapdragon 820 which is expected to launch early next year, in case it opts for the Qualcomm processor for the S7 models.

The Snapdragon processor will be 35% faster than the Snapdragon 810. It will come with 3GHz Kryo cores along with Adreno 530 graphics and LP-DDR4 RAM.

The President of Samsung, Jong-Kyun Shin said that they use the best possible engines for their products to make them competitive and thus they use their own chips. He also said that the company may think of using products from Qualcomm again for their next model in the Galaxy series.

The micro SD card feature which is sorely missed by the users of the S6 models will be reportedly brought back to Galaxy S7.

The glass and metal design of S6 drew positive reactions from its users, and it is rumored that Samsung may incorporate the same into S7. It was also reported by a Korean site called Kbench that Samsung has already filed a trademark request for a new type of protective glass that they have been working on. Thus the Galaxy S7 may come protected with Turtle Glass.
