However, offering incentives was completely shut down in the state in 2014. That being said, the Michigan Film and Media Office decided to honor the deal in some way and it agreed to pay half the decided amount to Paramount Pictures as incentive.
It means that Paramount will now receive $21 million as incentives for filming Transformers 5 in Michigan. The other half of the amount will be returned to the state general fund at the end of the financial year.
Jenell Leonard, the office commissioner of Michigan Film and Media Office believes that the economy of the state will get a boost if the upcoming movie is filmed in it. She is of the opinion that around 228 full-time jobs for the people of the state will be created during the filming of the movie.
As for the plot of Transformers 5, it is being rumored that it will feature two of them. One will be associated with Optimus Prime and his journey to find and confront his creators while the other one will focus on Cade Yeager and the remaining autobus on earth. Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role of Cade Yeager for the upcoming movie. It will be released on June 23, 2017.
