PlayStation 4K to Be Announced Before the Launch of PlayStation VR? Features a Powerful GPU and VR Support!

The new chip will have a smaller size compared to the one in PlayStation 4 which might enable the developers to further reduce the size of the whole device, thus increasing its portability.

While the processor will no doubt be quite powerful, it might still falter when it comes to running games in 4K resolution. The games that are already existent in the market might face some compatibility issues too, since they have not been developed for the new chip of the PlayStation 4K.

Apart from the high-end gaming experience, some other features that the console might offer are listed below-

  • Full compatibility with 4K screens.
  • Full compatibility of with media and games that will be released in the future.
  • Support for 4K, HDMI 2.0, HDR and HDCP 2.2 in Polaris.
  • Support for HDR while running games on 4K display.
  • Backward compatibility which means that it will be able to run all the PlayStation 4 games that have been released in the past.

Though it has not been confirmed, chances are that the device will be launched with a price tag of $399 which was also the introductory price of the PlayStation 4.
