However, with the inclusion of various player models, different particles and their movements, the performance starts varying from 26-45fps. The power of consoles is limited when to come to rendering PC-like detail on open world games. In GTA V, we already saw the FPS performance when trying to bring PC-like graphics to them.
When you move into intense combat situations, you will notice the frame rates dropping below 30 fps. The range remains between 27-30 fps when you are jumping over various rooftops in order to join a small skirmish in a nearby building. In reality, PlanetSide 2 offers an excellent multiplayer-shooting experience unlike any other title on the PS4. The performance is nowhere near that of the PC but the game is still in the beta stage, so it’s too early to tell.
The environments are detailed to the same PC-like standard along with a major upheaval of the lighting effect. The combat also makes use of matching projectiles and volumetric effects. The PlanetSide 2 servers need to get populated enough in order to notice the full extent of this title on the PS4. There are certain bugs involving players dying immediately at spawn points and corrupt character slots, which need to be duly addressed.
Stay tuned for more updates on PlanetSide 2 PS4!
