Electronic Arts has finally confirmed that Star Wars: Battlefront 3 is being developed for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. However, it is unclear whether the PC version will be releasing for both Steam OS and Mac. From the announcement, it is clear that the game will not be available for the seventh generation consoles like Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. In regards to a definite release date, EA announced that they are still gunning for a Holiday 2015 release, which should be between October-December 2015, as reported by Gameranx.
There are also reports saying that this upcoming title will be released along with the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ to be expected in December 2015. During their Star Wars Celebration, scheduled in Anaheim California, EA revealed more of this game from 16th-19th April. EA announced on their site that there wasn’t a more suitable place to debut this game. According to them, the premier event which celebrates the Star Wars Universe and the hordes of fans that have fallen in love with it was the best time to reveal the game officially.
The upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront 3 is a first-person shooter game, which according to EA Digital Illusions CE, is how the Battlefront games should be. The two previous versions of this game, was made by other developers like Pandemic Studio, Free Radical Design and Rebellion Developments. EA signed an exclusive deal with Disney on May 2013, so as to gain the rights to develop various Star Wars titles.
EA DICE is well known for its Battlefield franchise and the awesome Frostbite 3 game engine. The engine is best designed for first person shooters. Other than this, the developers also announced that the Hoth and Endor Planets will feature certain playable maps. Meanwhile, there are five different features that would get you really excited regarding this upcoming title.
