Mortal Kombat X: New Trailer Released for Kombat Pack 2, Expansion Pack to Bring a Host of Other Elements to The Game Alongside the New Characters!

Mortal Kombat X is the latest installment in the immensely popular series of Mortal Kombat video games from the house of NetherRealm Studios. Its popularity could be gauged from the fact that it has managed to bag the Best Fighting Game award at the 2015 Game Awards. Yahoo! Games has declared Mortal Kombat as one 2015’s Best Games.

The internet has been abuzz with various reports of the upcoming DLC for this game which is titled Kombat Pack 2. Kombat Pack 2 was announced by NetherRealm some time back and the company has since then revealed the four new characters that are going to be introduced to Mortal Kombat X through the expansion pack.

The developers have released a brand new gameplay trailer for the upcoming update which gives fans a closer look at the new characters set to be incorporated into the game. The four new characters that are set to zoom into the world of Mortal Kombat X are- Leatherface, Xenomorph, Bo Rai Cho and Tri-Borg.

The new trailer was made public on January 12 on the official Mortal Kombat Community YouTube Page. The video shows off some cool moves that the new characters will be capable of pulling off in the game.

While the characters of Bo Rai Cho and Tri-Borg are from the Mortal Kombat universe, Leatherface and Xenomorph are guest characters that will set foot into the realm of the popular fighting game straight from the world of Hollywood movies.

Bo Rai Cho is a drunken martial arts master whose weapon of choice is the drunken fist. Speculations are hot regarding Tri-Borg who appears to be some sort of combination of Sektor, Cyrax and Robot, who are three other well-known characters of the Mortal Kombat series.

Leatherface is a malicious chainsaw-wielding character from the Texas Chainsaw film and Xenomorph is an extra-terrestrial creature from the Alien series. The character of Xenomorph will have arm blades similar to swords and these will be its main weapons. It is being rumored that Xenomorph will carry traces of Baraka’s DNA, who is a renowned face in the Mortal Kombat universe.

The set of characters for Kombat Pack 2 were unveiled at the 2015 Game Awards which was held on December 3, 2015. The developers have already incorporated the character of Predator in the game through a DLC which came out last year, and with the upcoming DLC adding the character of Xenomorph will mean that players will be able to have their own Alien vs. Predator showdowns within the game.

Apart from these new characters, fans are also set to receive a number of other things with the expansion pack. The additional content that the Kombat Pack 2 will bring with itself include-

The character of Goro who is a Shokan warrior with four arms.

The Kold War Scorpion Pack which will contain a Scorpion character skin which is themed on the Kold War.

The Apocalypse Pack which will contain three brand new Apocalypse themed character skins for Takeda, D’Vorah and Erron Black.

The Brazil Pack which will come with three new character skins that include the Futbol Cage, Capoiera Liu Kang and Gaucho Kung Lao.

Three new character skins- Motherland Sonya, Tundra Sub-Zero and Revolution Kano will be included in the Kold War Pack.

The decision to include Tri-Borg in Kombat Pack has led many fans into wondering about the real reason behind this inclusion. Ed Boon, the creator of the series was enquired by some fans whether they can expect a story-based DLC as the next expansion pack of the game. Boon replied to the question by stating that the idea of story-based DLCs is something that is definitely a part of the long-term plans for the game.
