Rumors and speculations have been building around the upcoming DLC for Mortal Kombat X for quite some time. The expansion pack is being called Kombat Pack 2.
The latest rumors suggest that some of the new characters that will make its way to the Mortal Kombat X roster through the Kombat Pack 2 expansion pack will also make an appearance in a new live action series.

The rumors that these some of these characters will also be a part of a new live action series started building up when the director of Mortal Kombat Generations was asked to shed some light on the said live action series.
The reply from Warren stated that Mortal Kombat Generations will make its appearance at the beginning of the upcoming year.
NetherRealm will roll out Kombat Pakck2 at around the same time period which has sparked rumors that the expansion pack will be tied into the live action series.
The characters set to arrive with Kombat Pack 2 are Tri- Borg, Bo Rai Cho, Leatherface, and Xenomorph. Out of the four characters, Leatherface and Xenomorph are guest characters who are actually part of the Hollywood Movies universe.
However, the other two- Bo Rai Cho and Tri- Borg were previously listed for a casting call at the beginning of the current year for a live series of Mortal Kombat. Thus, fans are speculating that these character might actually end up making an appearance in the upcoming live action web series too.
The Tri–Borg character is one of the lesser known characters with no detailed origin story to its name. Various rumors are stating that this mysterious character’s backstory will be unveiled in the web series.
There has been no official backing behind these rumors yet and thus fans will have to wait and see if indeed these characters show up in Mortal Kombat Generations besides being part of Kombat Pack 2.
The previous web series which was called Mortal Kombat: Legacy ran for two seasons before coming to an end in 2012. The upcoming web series will be a sequel to Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
A popular website reported that Generations will feature various character which include the likes of Cassie Cage, Cho, Takeda and Erron Black. The report further stated that the role of Kung Jin might be played by Lewis Tan.
It was reported that some of the key actors of the previous web series distanced themselves from the project to be a part of other things. Also, the director of the series had some problems with the crew of Warner Bros. which led to a tension between the two parties.
All these factors previously prevented a third plot for the show to materialize. However, the project is currently in its developmental stages and will be released soon as stated earlier.
Several of the original cast members will make a return for the filming of the live action series. Casper Van Dien will reprise his role of Johnny Cage, Morgan Sticke will be back as Cassie Cage and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will dawn the role of Shang Tung once again.
In other news regarding the game, fans are in for a real treat as one of the characters of Kombat Pack 2 will be shown off ESL MKX finals which is scheduled to be held on January 24.
Tyler Lansdown, the community specialist of NetherRealm Studios made the announcement on Twitter stating that one of the characters of Kombat Pack 2 is set to make an appearance at a special Kombat Kast broadcast which will be held at the ESL finals. He did not, however, reveal the specific character that will be seen in action at the ESL finals.
