Meanwhile, Netflix has finally given the Go signal for the fifth season of Longmire and according to official reports, it will have 10 episodes. This comes as a great piece of news for viewers and fans of Longmire who were earlier worried that Netflix might not renew this show for any more episodes or seasons.
Thankfully, Season 5 has been confirmed according to reports from TVLine and loads of rumors are about to surface. According to Breathecast, the upcoming season will release on September 2016 and production will begin in spring.
The writing of scripts is currently going on at the moment even though it is clear that the date is yet to be confirmed. The show writer Tony Tost is actively updating on Twitter and he revealed that the writer’s room is up and running. Tost talked about the music which is currently playing inside the room, earlier this month.
He tweeted on 10th December, “Playing today in the Longmire writer’s room: John Moreland “Hang Me in the Tulsa County Stars.”He also decided to address some of the rumors involving the show, especially the upcoming fifth season. According to a fan, he read an article that season 5 of Longmire will be all gloom, doom and pain and he might stop watching the show.
However, show writer Tony Tost recently debunked all the rumors and declared that the production team will definitely tell a good story.
According to Tost, Season 5 of the TV show will also be darker and violent when compared to the previous seasons. Due to this report, a lot of fans have decided that they will no longer watch the show when it premiers on Netflix on September next year. Meanwhile, there have also been other speculations regarding the possible identity of the intruder.
According to them, the intruder could be Jacob Nighthorse, played by A Martinez; Zachary, played by Barry Sloane; and Sam Poteet, played by Hank Cheyne.
However, keep in mind that Walter Longmire has loads of culprits and pinpointing a single one can be difficult. Meanwhile, rumors suggest that the person who burned the van could be one to break into Longmire’s house.
Sadly, according to Christian Post, this could mean that Donna Sue is the target. Reports also suggest that a new character from Walter Longmire’s past could be introduced in the upcoming fifth season. Keep in mind that this is merely a speculation and nothing more.
