James Wan Talks About the Conjuring 2 Trying to Live Up to the Expectations, Farmiga Claims that the Filming Was Frightening!

James Wan, the director of The Conjuring 2 spoke about the upcoming film at the WonderCon in Los Angeles. He said that filming the sequel was a fun experience as he had expected, since the cast and the crew members were all same from the first film.

No matter how easy the filming looked like or how much fun it was, Movie News Guide reported that the shooting wasn’t that easy.Wan said what made the filming process difficult was the fact that he had to push himself and the whole team to try and improve things from the last time. They had a lot of expectations to meet and it wasn’t easy.

Wan added that it was good to have all the pressure since it ensured that everyone worked hard. Wan is known to be a master of the horror genre, but he recently won a lot of kudos for his brilliant work with Furious 7.

He spoke about working with Furious 7 and said that even that didn’t have such a lot of pressure, although he was picking up the franchise made by someone and continuing with it.

In The Conjuring 2, James Wan had decided to work with two of the most popular stories of haunting. The Amityville case, which created a lot of controversy and the Enfield Poltergeist case. These two are the most documented paranormal cases and hence Wan decided to combine them for The Conjuring 2.

The Amityville case had received a lot of publicity and has been showed and dealt with on numerous platforms and hence he didn’t want to go ahead with it on its own. Wan felt that the Enfield Poltergeist case was similar to the first case and hence combined them for the upcoming film.

The Conjuring 2 will see Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) head to Enfield, North London where they will have to help out a mother and her four children. They live in a house that’s filled with spirits and one of them seem to have taken control of one of the girls, Janet.

The Warrens realize that while they try to save the family, they are being targeted by the evil spirits. Lorraine especially will be completely distraught since the whole investigation starts to take a toll on her health. Vera Farmiga spoke up about her experience and said that it was scary filming for The Conjuring 2 and said that there were some shots that frightened everyone on the sets.

The trailers of The Conjuring 2 shows Lorraine telling Ed that they might be in trouble if they keep their investigation on. Lorraine realizes that it is not a simple haunting that they are dealing with. They have won the ire of a very evil spirit and if they continue with their investigation, the demonic entities inside the house will not shy away from killing them.

The trailer reveals that Ed and Lorraine’s daughter, Judy (Sterling Jerins) is also being approached by the demonic spirits. She had gone through a similar haunting in The Conjuring. One of the scenes show Lorraine standing in front of the mirror when she sees a reflection of a nun-like demon.

Every time she turns to see behind her back, the reflection comes closer and closer and finally tries to choke her. The voice of Lorraine in the trailer haunts the viewers. She says that after seeing all the things during their paranormal investigations, nothing should get to them, but the memory of this particular case still haunts her.
