Even his daughter, Shireen was burnt alive as a sacrifice to the Red God. Martin had kept both of them alive in the fifth book and readers will have to find out what’s in store for them in the sixth novel, Winds of Winter.
Martin had hinted that he will be dealing with the lineage of Jon Snow in Winds of Winter. It is likely that he was the son of Robert Baratheon and Lyanna Stark. The fans will have to wait to find out more about Jon Snow. Martin had also made it very clear that the Commander of the Night’s Watch will not be killed in the book.
According to Christian Daily, the novel will see characters who have either been killed or relegated into the background by HBO, play a more important role in Winds of Winter. This would mean that Jon Snow and Daenerys might have to make way for Stannis and Tyrion Lannister.
Master Herald has reported that there is a chance that Winds of Winter might be further delayed since HBO is planning a prequel based on Game of Thrones. Martin is really interested on working out the details and nitty-gritties of the same with the production house. If this projects starts, then Winds of Winter will be again left unattended.
