Release Rumors for Apple iPhone 7 indicate an Increase in the Battery Capacity, Leaked Photos Tease Essential Upgrades!

The upcoming Apple iPhone 7 needs to win. There is a lot of worry about the latest iPhones laying back on falling sales and there are worries that the next iPhone will again feature more of the older designs and features.

Chine micro-blogging website Weibo has come to our rescue with a lot more details regarding the upcoming iPhones. According to it, Apple has planned to provide the aspirational iPhone 7 users with a major upgrade.

The device will feature a bigger battery but on the other hand, the latest reports indicate that the upcoming iPhone will be devoid of a headphone jack. From the looks of it, Weibo has come up with photos from the factory floor and it shows us the battery of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. The codes further revealed that the phones will receive a 1735mAh and 2850mAh battery capacities respectively.

This is a small increase from the 1715mAh battery in the iPhone 6S and the 2750mAh battery in the iPhone 6S Plus. This is still a notable step-down from the older iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus with 1810mAh and 2950mAh batteries respectively.

Now, in the meantime, should we believe all these rumors? It is quite impossible to tell at the moment but it would certainly appear rather odd considering that rumors should be based on such a modest and underwhelming spec bump.

This further indicates that the iPhone 7 will have battery life which is not at all superior when compared to its predecessors. There is a lot depending on the efficiency of the Apple A10 chip. The removal of the headphone jack will mean that that Lightning Port needs to power any kind of headphones without their individual battery pack.

This could end up being another source of power drain for the upcoming iPhone. Therefore, it might sound like a small win with a modest upgrade but at the same time, it could end up being the problem. This is in fact starting to become somewhat of a theme for the iPhone 7. The device keeps featuring incremental upgrades.

Apple needs to keep in mind that an iPhone 6SS is never going to sell while Apple’s handset sales continue to blow away all sales expectations. However, the reason why we should remain cheerful is that there is a lot of time to make all the necessary changes. At the same time, it seems like the real innovation might not be until the all-glass iPhone 8.

We all know that Apple iPhone 6S didn’t really impress us that well. The same goes for the iPhone SE due to which the upcoming iPhone 7 needs to be a groundbreaking product.

Tim Cook, Apple CEO appeared on CNBC and he said, “We have great innovation in the pipeline, like new iPhones that will incent you and other people that have iPhones today to upgrade to new iPhones… We are going to give you things that you can’t live without, that you just don’t even know you need today… You will look back and wonder ‘how did I live without this?’ Apple hasn’t really managed to impress us for quite some time due to which it needs to make a splash with the iPhone 7.

Android devices have been stepping up the competition even though iPhone devices are doing well. Apple iPad sales have declined while the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a better camera than the Apple devices. Apple iPhone sales have been slowing down and the company declared its first revenue drop in 13 years.
