Emilia Clarke Talks About How Daenerys Has Grown Since Season 1, Game of Thrones Season 6 To Focus on Bran and Arya!

Game of Thrones have always been skirting controversy with its bold scenes. Right before the sixth season of the popular series, Emilia Clarke spoke to Independent about the scene where her character, Daenerys, was raped by her husband, Khal Drogo. The scene is still fresh in the mind of the viewers and it helps understand how far the character of Daenerys has come.

From a helpless young woman, who became a pawn in the hands of her brother, to a wife of a dominating clan ruler, she is now on her way to becoming the one to sit on the Iron Throne.

Emilia Clarke said that the customary ritual that she had to suffer right after her marriage to Khal Drogo becomes important when the fans look back to see how Daenerys has changed since that day.

She was raped by Khal Drogo, but there was also a scene where she willingly gets into bed with him to tell him clearly that she is the one who is in charge and he can never ever try to control or subjugate her. The entire equation that she shared with Khal Drogo changes since the night she decides to take charge, and it marks the beginning of a new Daenerys.

Clarke says that HBO had to make the viewers connect to the character of Game of Thrones and hence they would create a story that would stir their empathy. Daenerys started with a lot of empathy from the viewers since they saw her getting tormented by her brother and raped by her husband. Once that was established, the new side of Daenerys was unfolded to make her a champion, someone that the viewers would rally for.

Game of Thrones Season 5 had ended with Daenerys coming in contact with a group of Dothraki men and Season 6 will open with that premise. With one of her dragons responding to her, she is on her way to Westeros to take claim of the throne that is rightfully hers. The promo shows Daenerys with the Dothraki clan, though it is clear if she has been able to win them over with her leadership qualities and have convinced them to follow her to Westeros.

Game of Thrones Season 6 is also believed to show Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) in a different light. He will still do things that are going to be excruciatingly painful to watch, but the viewers will see the misery in what he does, to the extent he goes to so that he can legitimize his name.

Last season saw Ramsay create havoc, but this time, things will not be that easy for him since he will have stronger forces to deal with. Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) is in his area and she is in search of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and this might not end well for Ramsay.

Christian post reported that the actor who plays Bran, Isaac Hempstead Wright, gave out some scoops about the character. The English actor said that Season 6 of Game of Thrones will see Bran play the role of kingmaker.

Until now, Bran would run from a scene of trouble and hide for safety. Things are going to change this year. Isaac Hempstead Wright teased that Bran has learnt a lot from the Three-Eyed Raven and this season will depict him using his power.

Maisie Williams, who plays the role of Arya Stark has revealed that the sixth season of Game of Thrones is going to be more unpredictable than the previous five seasons. She also teased that fans will find a completely new plot line, which isn’t there in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel series.
