Empire Season 2 is back from its midseason break and it is more exciting than ever before. The show was back last week with an exceptional midseason premiere, but the latest episode of Empire Season 2 blew the minds of the viewers.
A lot of things have changed in the world of Empire 2 and fans will see a lot more changing. Viewers will be treated to betrayal, power struggles and a sex tape scandal in the upcoming episodes.
Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray) is now in charge of Empire and he is going to go all out to disrespect his father, Luscious Lyon (Terence Howard). He has already started changing things around and the recent thing that he does is changing Luscious’ face from the company logo and placing his face on it.
The finale had shown Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) falling down from a staircase, in what looked like a deliberate move by someone. Rhonda lost her and Andre’s (Trai Byers) baby in the fall and this devastated both of them. It was felt that Rhonda and Andre’s relationship will suffer because of this incident, but they were shocked to see that Andre got down on his knees and proposed to Rhonda.
It is only when Andre and Rhonda enter the church, do the viewers find out what’s the bigger picture. Andre didn’t propose to Rhonda because he loves her, he did it so that he could get her to church.
He informs Rhonda that he had a vision about the reason for Rhonda’s fall. While Andre calls it his psychic power, Rhonda tells him that it isn’t anything but his mental break trauma. Andre and Rhonda have a therapy session with the pastor, where to the shock of Rhonda and the viewers, he accuses her of cheating on him with the pastor.
Things are going to get very complicated for Hakeem and Camilla (Naomi Campbell). Hakeem had cheated on Laura (Jamila Velazquez) with Camilla. He didn’t just stop at that. He ended up making a sex-tape of the same so that he could send it to Camilla’s ex-wife Mimi (Marisa Tomei). Hakeem wants Camilla out of the picture and he wanted to blackmail her out of Empire Records.
However, things get very complicated. Billboard reported that Luscious will walk in on Camilla killing Mimi. He puts her on gunpoint and makes her drink down a poisonous drink that she had given him.
The scene ends with Luscious walking out with the fans wondering if Camilla survives the lethal drink. When Ilene Chaiken, the showrunner of Empire Season 2 was asked if Camilla will be dead, she said that it might be so.
The trailer for the upcoming episode shows Luscious is accusing Hakeem of killing Camilla. The viewers already know that it wasn’t Hakeem, but the question that viewers will have to wait for is whether Hakeem knows the truth. Luscious had killed his brother, Bunky to get Empire and Hakeem knows that his father can go to any length to get Empire back.
This isn’t the only problem that Hakeem will have to deal with. Tiana (Serayah) no longer enjoys the privileges with Hakeem. It is Laura who now enjoys the center stage when it comes to Hakeem and the R&B group. The upcoming episode is likely to show Tiana finding out about Laura and there is going to be a major showdown.
