The companies like Yu have mocked the popular Chinese company for being too slow in upgrading to Lollipop. Till now, there was no official news regarding the next major version of MIUI. Presently, an established custom ROM community known as AOKP revealed that they are working on the next major update and the details have finally crystallized. Team Kang is behind the development of this ROM and declared that they are working on the new and refreshed version of MIUI 7. It will be based on the Android version 5.1 Lollipop while releasing on the Xiaomi Mi5. The team’s official blog post claimed that the Android version will be codenamed MiKangy and will feature a new take on the Android User interface.
On a more surprising and highly advanced note, the team revealed that each version of MIUI will evolve with the user after a few months spent with the new ROM. According to their needs, each user will receive a unique and personalized version of MIUI. Meanwhile, AOKP’s collaboration with Xiaomi will not damage their work on the Android Lollipop versions.
The latest collaboration with Xiaomi is a completely new project will not have an effect on the future of AOKP. Meanwhile, Xiaomi offered a price cut on Mi4’s Chinese versions and it is a major indication that Xiaomi will launch its Mi5 smartphone soon.
