Fans of Winds of Winter will be happy to know that the release date for the sixth novel of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire has been revealed by Alejo Cuervo, the editor for the Spanish publisher Ediciones Gigamesh.
The Spanish publishing house owns the rights to the book that will be translated in the Spanish language and he let out in an interview that Winds of Winter is going to be released in 2016. While being interviewed by Los Siete Reinos from the Catalan radio station El Mon a RAC, Cuervo let out that the book is going to be out next year.
The editor also added that the Spanish version of Winds of Winter is going to be out after the English version is released, which hinted that the English edition of Martin’s highly anticipated sixth novel will be out before that.
To the glee of the fans, Cuervo also stated that Ediciones Gigamesh has requested George R. R. Martin to hand over the manuscript to them before the official release of the English edition so that they can start on the translation.
This has been done keeping in mind that the Spanish readers don’t have to wait for a period longer than the English readers to lay their hands on the copies of Winds of Winter.
