According to VC Post, Martin isn’t simply sitting down and writing Winds of Winter. He has to write for the television series and adaptations of the book. He also has a host of appearances to make and is globetrotting. This gives him very few days at home and that is when he works on the novel.
Yibada has announced that HBO is planning to push back the release date of Game of Thrones Season 6. There has been no official announcement on this, but it is being reported that HBO is pushing back the date by a few weeks to give George R. R. Martin the opportunity to finish the book so that they can incorporate some of the events from Winds of Winter in episodes of Season 6.
This doesn’t seem to be a very valid proposition since the shooting for Game of Thrones Season 6 has already begun in Belfast. With the shooting already underway, how can postposing the release by a few weeks help Martin?
