Transformers 5 to Be Filmed in Detroit, Michael Bay Not Directing Anymore Films Under the Franchise, And More

The latest update from Transformers 5 states that the film is going to be shot in Detroit. The earlier films have been shot in the same city and Michael Bay is going to head over there with his team once again.

The President of the Paramount Pictures, Lee Rosenthal has confirmed that Transformers 5 is going to be shot in Detroit. According to Enstarz, Lee Rosenthal has confirmed that Michigan has always been welcome of the team from Transformers and they are happy to go back there for the fifth instalment as well.

Michael Bay is going to be back as the director of Transformers 5. There were a lot of speculation that he might not return for the role since he was busy with 13 Hours: The Secret Soldier of Benghazi.

However, Paramount Pictures knows that he is the magic behind all the success that the Transformers franchise has seen on screen and Transformers 5 cannot succeed without him in the helm of things.

Michael Bay is officially on board as the director of Transformers 5, but he has made it very clear that he will not be directing any more Transformers films in the future. Michael Bay as Parent Herald has reported will ask the studio to hand over the reins to some young blood who will give a new dimension to the franchise.

J.J. Abrams might feel that Michael Bay is the best man for the job, but Bay is of the opinion that if Abrams can revive a popular franchise like Star Wars then there will be a new director who will give a new dimension to Transformers 5. Michael Bay has informed in an interview with CinePop that it is time to move on from Transformers.

Paramount Pictures got their mantra for a successful fifth instalment. Transformers 4: Age of Extinction was a huge success worldwide and Paramount want to better that record with Transformers 5. With Michael Bay looking after the direction, Paramount asked Akiva Goldsman to supervise the script.

Akiva Goldsman isn’t working on the script, but he is supervising the script for the film. He has writers like Ken Nolan, Art Marcum, Zak Penn, Jeff Pinkner and Matt Holloway to name a few of the writers working to build the story board for Transformers 5.

Robert Kirkman was also roped in for Transformers 5, however, he will not be able to be a part of the project since he had to go for a surgery on the very day that the project was starting. Robert Kirkman is known as the scriptwriter for The Walking Dead.

According to Vine Report, Kirkman was a part of the writers’ room for exactly a day before he realized that he will have to go for a throat surgery that also kept him away from the Comic Con.

He has gone on record to state that given the kind of energy that was there in the writers’ room, it is obvious that the story that they will create is going to be a very exciting one.

Akiva Goldsman has informed that the writers are digging deep into the Transformers universe to find out stories that have a huge popularity among the fans, but have never been seen on screen. These writers are also going to be there for the upcoming films from the franchise and this has got the fans very excited.
