Transformers 5: Filming to Take Place in London, Chicago and Detroit, Standalone Film with Bumblebee, Casting Call Announced, And More

It is official fans, Transformers 5 will be out in theatres on June 2017. While no date has been released yet, it seems like Paramount Pictures will stick to the timeline that they had already revealed.

It was first said that Paramount is looking for location for the shoot with an eye specifically in UK and Ireland, so that they could get some tax benefits and compensations. However, it looks like Paramount is going to stick to a location closer to home.

According to Christian Post, Transformers 5 is going to be shot in Chicago. The new was confirmed by the director of Transformers 5 who said his interview with WGN Radio that Transformers 5 will be back in Chicago like the last film, Transformers: Age of Extinction, but this time they will work in another part of the city.

When asked whether the history of violence in the city becomes a problem while shooting the film, Michael Bay said that the production crew will be there with Transformers and they will make sure to even out all the gun violence that is so prevalent in Chicago.

While Chicago seems to be the obvious choice for director Michael Bay, the casting call for Transformers 5 states that the film is going to need a large number of extras and stand-ins and those selected should be ready to work in Michigan and London. This makes it evident that some parts of the film will be shot in UK as well. However, there is no confirmation on this news.

The film is going by the working title of E75 and as reported in the casting call that has been issued by Paramount Pictures, it will start filming in London with additional scenes being shot in Detroit.

The large number of locations being mentioned for the shoot of Transformers 5 is making things a little confusing for the fans, but they are hopeful that by the time the film goes on the floor in June, the studio is going to make an official announcement about the official location for the shoot.

Transformers is the most successful franchise for Paramount Pictures and they are planning on going all out to make sure that the film is more popular than the last installments from the series. To make Transformers a huge success, Paramount has roped in noted scriptwriter Akiva Goldsman for the plot line of Transformers 5 and the next few installments that are in the pipeline.

Akiva Goldsman is working on the script per say, but is heading the writer’s room with noted writers like Ken Nolan. The last Transformers film, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction ended with Optimus Prime heading to outer space to have a faceoff with their creators, the Quintessons. The Quintessons are on their way to attack earth and eradicate the human race and Optimus Prime is headed there to stop them from doing that.

The plot for Transformers 5 is going to have a two-fold story. The first plot will see Optimus Prime heading to space and meeting the Quintessons, while the second plot will be based on earth and have Ultra Magnus, Bumblebee and Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) managing things back on earth.

Akiva Goldsman had stated that he is well aware of the vast universe that Hasbro has created when it comes to the Transformers and he and his team of writers are going to delve deep into the Transformers universe to unearth material and plot points that are a highly popular with the fans, but have never been used in the cinematic adaptations.
