Young actors Logan Lerman from Perks of Being a Wallflower and Dylan O’Brien from television series Teen Wolf were rumoured to be the top choices from Spider-Man, but these reports were denied by both. The hunt is still on by Marvel and Sony to find a 15-year-old actor to fill in Spider-Man’s shoes.
The leaked emails show that Sony made a lot of changes to ensure that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 appealed to a wider audience, but it still fell short of their expectations. Sony had huge hopes for Spider-Man in their earlier ventures but was highly disappointed.
With Marvel planning on including Spider-Man in their Cinematic Universe as a team member of the Avengers, Sony is leaving no stones turned to ensure that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is a huge hit.
With a lot of films lined up in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is expected to release on July 28, 2017. The audience will get a glimpse of the new Spider-Man when he makes his debut in Iron Man’s team in Captain America: Civil War.
