Tekken 7: Arcade Testing Underway, Likely to Hit the Market within the Upcoming Months, to Sport VR Support!

Tekken 7 is going to be the ninth installment in the popular franchise of Tekken fighting video games. It is being developed by Bandai Namco and it has already seen a limited arcade release in Japan on February 18, 2015. The game was released once again in an incomplete state on March 18, 2015. Tekken 7 is the first game in the Tekken series that has employed the Unreal Engine.

The announcement for the game was made more than a year ago by Bandai Namco and fans have since been waiting for any sort of concrete news regarding it from the developers. During the PlayStation Experience event, many developers divulged fresh details pertaining to various games, but Bandai Namco was not one of them.

Bandai Namco abstained from revealing any details regarding the upcoming game at the event which led to the disappointment of many fans. KatsuhiroHarada, the producer of the game was asked by a fan on Twitter whether he could provide some concrete news regarding the game. Harada answered to the query by simply stating, “I think not this time.”

Fans are eagerly waiting to get some news about the game’s release date on PS4 and Xbox One and it looks like their wait will be prolonged as the developers are still keeping mum regarding the matter.

However, a renowned website recently reported that fans will soon be able to get their hands on Tekken 7: Fated Retribution as the game is set to hit the market in the recent future. Apparently, the developers have made an announcement which states that soon they will begin arcade testing the game in Japan.

The testing is set to begin on February 12 and will continue till February 14. The locations of the tests include- Namco Sugamo in Tokyo, Round One Stadium Sennichimae arcade located in Osaka and Namco’s Hakata Bus terminal arcade located in Fukuoka.The developers further stated that they will release the game within the coming few months if the arcade testing proves to be successful.

This certainly proves that the game will actually be released sometime in the future, however, fans were disappointed when they got the news that the development process of the final version of the game has not yet started.

Michael Murray, senior game designer and KousukeWaki, the visual design manager recently stated that the developers are presently bury working on the arcade version of the game. They also added that if the arcade version turns out to be a success the developers will incorporate its content into the console version of the game.

According to Murray, the current time period is quite good for fighting genre games as Mortal Kombat X was released recently and Tekken 7: Fated Retribution isall set to make footfall in the near future.

This hype regarding fighting games will work towards drawing more audience for the arcade testing of Tekken 7 and it will enable the developers to continue with their tests and incorporate new contents and ideas into it before finally releasing the game for the console platform.

In a previous announcement, Bandai Namco stated that Street Fighter famed Akuma is set to make an appearance in Tekken 7. The announcement sparked a lot of speculations among fans whether any other Street Fighter character would be added to the game.

It also led to the assumption that Tekken: Fated Retribution will provide fans with a sneak peek at another upcoming title of the series by the name of Tekken X: Street Fighter.
