It was clear that Graham’s arrest would be aired on the show as soon as the cameras started rolling. The police should have realized it and prevented it from happening. It seemed like Prince was playing fast and loose with the rights of people.
The sad thing was that Melanie’s rape more or less felt like an afterthought. Melanie was shocked when she discovered that she does not remember losing her virginity.
Her trauma was forgotten for the most part and the focus of the SVU team shifted to punishing Prince as soon as the investigation was finished. Melanie was immature enough to believe that a reality show would be successful in finding true love for her. Well, she was in for a rude awakening.
Meanwhile, the last episode of Season 17 was also the last one which featured Warren Leight as the showrunner. The new showrunner will be Rick Eid. Rest assured, he isn’t new to the Law and Order Universe and he worked previously on the flagship show along with its spin-offs.
