However, in the third upcoming season of Penny Dreadful, it seems like a new location has been confirmed and this place is none other than the city of Almeria in Andalusia, Spain. However, it won’t be projected as a European location. Instead, it will actually depict the American West of the 1800s as reported by Breathecast.
It seems like the TV series will be doing some shooting in the American West. If you recall correctly, during the Season 2 finale, Ethan Chandler, played by Josh Harnett, admitted to Scotland Yard authorities that he was behind the grisly murders at the Mariners’ Inn in London when he transformed into a werewolf.
Moreover, in the same Season 2 finale, Timothy Dalton, who plays Sir Malcolm Murray went to Africa in order to return the body of his loyal assistant Sembene. Sembene was killed in the witch castle when he and Ethan were locked in the staircase and Ethan transformed into a werewolf. After the events in Africa, Sir Malcolm Murray will travel to America in order to see Ethan.
This particular news has become almost confirmed since Josh Harnett and Timothy Dalton were recently spotted filming in Almeria. According to the latest reports, Dalton and Harnett will find new allies in America which include Wes Studi, the Avatar actor. He will play the role of Native American Kaetenay, and “Burnt” actress Sarah Greene, will play the role of Hecate as reported by Parent Herald.
The reports suggest that this group will be on a special mission in order to defeat the forces of evil, in the same way Sir Malcolm’s small group did in “Penny Dreadful” Season 2. Considering the behind-the-scenes photos from Penny Dreadful in Almeria, there are indications of the possibility of featuring some flashbacks from Ethan Chandler’s past.
In the meantime, the first official trailer of Penny Dreadful Season 3 has been released and a 67-second video clip is awesome enough to scare fans and viewers.
