Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini: Tech-Specs Rumored, Release Date on the Cards, Samsung Leaves No Room for Error!

If you were waiting to buy a premium segment smartphone, but could not afford one, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini is here to answer your woes. The S6 Mini has been confirmed online and this device is a 4.6-inch variant of Samsung’s current-generation flagship model – the Galaxy S6.

However, apart from the renders that surfaced online back in July 2016, nothing concrete has been revealed about the device. According to a popular tabloid, Samsung may have accidentally released the images of the Galaxy S6 Mini, a long time before the smartphone was actually expected to arrive in the market.

Initial speculations state that the S6 Mini is scheduled to sport a 15-MP primary camera with a 5-MP secondary lens. The smartphone is slated to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device comes with 16 GB of built-in memory, although, it is unclear whether Samsung will allow an expansion.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Beidou, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi. Samsung is yet to announce whether the rumors regarding the Galaxy S6 Mini are true. They are yet to announce the details regarding the release date and the price of the device too.

Samsung has recently offered a limited quantity of their Galaxy S6 smartphones on sale at amazon for massive discounts, and customers are lined up to buy the smartphones. The Factory Unlocked 32GB variant is being sold at an offer price of $449, whereas the regular price is $599.99.

The deal saves 25 percent on your actual expenditure. However, the Factory Unlocked smartphone can only support the T-Mobile network. Hence, if you were planning on opting for another operator, think again!

It seems like Samsung is hell-bent on launching a Mini version of all their premium segment smartphones and the Galaxy S6 Mini is of significant importance, since this pocket-friendly smartphone is all set to take on the Apple iPhone 6C.

Being a Mini version of the flagship model, the tech-specs are scheduled to get toned down a notch. Initial speculations suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini features a 4.6-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset that is capable of clocking at 1.8 GHz, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 418 GPU, 16 GB of internal storage, 15MP primary camera and 5MP secondary lens.

Apart from the above features, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini is also scheduled to feature a non-removable battery, fingerprint scanner and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box!The device is yet to be available for pre-order,although, prospective buyers can sign up via mail and wait for official confirmations regarding the price and the date of launch.

Rumors claim that Samsung is looking forward to launching the smartphone sometime along February 2016, although, it is too early to comment on these rumors. Some people are of the opinion that it is too late for Samsung to show up with an S6 Mini, since the smartphone’s market lifespan is dwindling fast.

Only time will tell whether the S6 Mini can live up to the expectations of the company and the loyalists. Samsung is currently gearing up to launch the next-gen flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7, and with the holiday season about to end, this is the perfect time to launch the new product.

Samsung could also launch both the devices together, but experts believe that the Korean tech giants are in no mood to compromise on quality and user experience on the Galaxy S6 Mini, which is also a probable cause for the massive delay in launching the device.

  1. Honestly, I don’t think it’s going to happen. The listing has since been taken down and no official communication has been received from Samsung. Maybe they decided that it’s not worth investing in its development, which might be a bit weird, considering that there’s still a market for compact phones.
