Since last year, Motorola has undergone some massive changes, from first being ripped out of the parent company to being sold over to Google and then, very recently being acquired by the PC Goliath, Lenovo.
It has been a roller coaster ride for Motorola, the past year. Even though, in the company’s defence during that period, Google and Motorola rolled out some of the best Moto G and Moto X smartphones till date, in the markets.
This year, Motorola released its Motorola Moto X, which is also called Moto Z on the 9th of June. It was reportedly unveiled at the Lenovo Tech World Conference, held at San Francisco, this Thursday.
Ever since the official confirmation of the 4th generation Moto X’s release date, a swarm of images and videos had started progressively making their appearance on the web.
There have been constant whispers hinting that there will be 2 models of the Motorola Moto X. One which is presently codenamed as the Vertex and the other, brown model will be bearing the name Vertex Thin.
The latter, is going to be extremely thin and will be highly customizable with the aid of 6 modules that connect at the back, with the pogo pins and aren’t speakers.
There were leaked images, a few days prior to the official launch of the device, revealing the photos of its supposed changeable back covers for its modules. The images showed several back panel shells offered for the newest Moto X handset. The changeable covers appear to be made out of a variety of materials, providing a variety of textures.
The apparent name of these changeable back covers is Style Mods. Also there were news amongst fans that the name Motorola Moto X would soon be ditched and replaced with Moto Z. As of now, the photo posted on twitter by Evan Blass confirms that there are three known models.
Now, coming to some of the features that this handset is believed to flaunt, are that it possesses a 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD Display, with a 1080p HD screen. It also comprises a Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 processor, which is partnered upwith a 4GB of RAM (or 820 Lite).
The OS it will feature might contain Android N or Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.Similar to last year’s trend, this year too, the phone will come in sets of both 16GB AND 32GB storage space, plus a micro-SD slot.
It comprises of 16 MP rear camera with Dual LED Flash, sensors, auto focus, OIS and is also equipped with an 8 MP front camera with auto-focus and flash. The handset also has battery options of 2600 mAh and 3600 mAh, a fingerprint scanner built in at the front and USB Type-C Port to enable faster charging.
One of the modules that this device is supposed to have is a Pico Projector, along with an extended battery. Watching movies and videos will become an amazing experience, thanks to the Pico Projector. The second module is allegedly a JBL speaker of premium quality.
Another module that is going to hit the markets, is coming from Hasselblad. Hasselblad is a producer, of top of the class filming or movie making devices and cameras. Although, the products of the above said company are known to be a little pricey but it is known for its uncompromising standard of quality.
