Reports indicate there were also plans to equip the Xiaomi Mi5 with an 810 processor but ultimately, they were scrapped. If Xiaomi makes use of a MediaTek Helio X20 processor, it won’t be a problem for the Eastern countries where Xiaomi phones are usually sold.
Till now, Xiaomi doesn’t have any plans to introduce the Mi5 in U.S markets. Besides the processor, rumors indicate that the upcoming Mi5 will come with a 5.3-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM, an ultrasonic high-speed fingerprint scanner and a 16-megapixel Optical Image Stabilization rear camera.
Meanwhile, Singles Day is the largest shopping day of the year and people will definitely utilize the price discounts offered on various Xiaomi devices.
The recently revealed AnTuTu benchmarks revealed that in the single threaded integer and single threaded floating point tests, Snapdragon 820 is around 1.38x and 1.77x times more powerful than its earlier predecessor, the Snapdragon 810.
The Mi5 will come with MIUI 7 or MIUI 8 out of the box with Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow as its OS. In terms of features, the Xiaomi Mi5 will be no lesser than the Samsung Galaxy S6, which was released this year.
