The Outlander was a huge success in its first season. With the series returning for the second season in April, there are a lot of anticipation on what’s in store in it for the viewers. The viewers are divested on what’s in store this season with the first one ending in a cliff-hanger.
Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Catriona Balfe) heading to France, there will be some interesting things waiting for the time travelling couple. Inquisitr asked Sam Heughan himself to shed some light on what is coming in Outlander Season 2 and he happily let out a few scoops.
The first thing that Sam Heughan made very clear is that Outlander Season 2 is going to be very different from the first season. Entertainment Weekly reported that with very many new relationships being developed in the first season, things are going to be more complex this time round.
Sam Heughan, who has become a household name after playing the role of Jamie in the television adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s book, repeated the same fact. He said that things have become more complex and there are relationships that have been formed and they will determine a lot of things.
Based on Diana Gabaldon’s second novel, Dragonfly in Amber, Outlander Season 2 will see Jamie and Claire time travel to Jacobite France to prevent the rebellion and thereby change the course of history. In order make this happen, the couple will have to enter the elite French society and this isn’t going to be an easy challenge.
Catriona Balfe said that the attempt to breach into the elite French society isn’t going to be an easy thing to do. The couple is going to face a lot of opposition and difficulties and Balfe added that they will gather a large number of enemies because of their actions. One of the primary enemies that they have to contend with will be the Count of St. Germain.
The second season of Outlander is going to see Jamie and Claire take a big step in their personal life as well. Outlander Season 1 had shaken them up and they will have to deal with the experiences of that; Jamie was imprisoned and sexually assaulted by Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).
Blastr reported that in spite of all the odds in their personal life, Claire will be there for Jamie and both of them will work things out to make sure that their bond grows stronger. Season 2 of Outlander will be another milestone for the couple since Claire will be pregnant with their first child and will give her all to help Jamie get over his traumatic past.
CarterMatt has gotten hold of some of the titles for Outlander Season 2 and they have drawn some idea on what those particular episodes will entail in the coming season.
Episode three of Outlander Season 2 is titled Useful Occupations and Deceptions and it indicates that with the Jacobite Rebellion coming on, things are going to be very difficult for Jamie and Claire. The two leading characters and the others will enter a world that is very different and full of mind games and deception.
The other titles hint at the possible return of characters who had been believed to be dead, it also hints at the fact that all the best laid plans might not see a fulfilling end and that Outlander Season 2 is going to deal with The White Lady as mentioned by Diana Gabaldon’s novel Dragonfly in Amber. In order to prevent spoilers, let us not divulge anything more on the said topic.
