Ecumenical News has reported that Will Kemp is expected to play the role of Lord Darnley and will be a part of three episodes in Reign Season 4. He might become a series regular since Lord Darnley ends up becoming the second husband to Queen Mary. The actor who is expected to play the role of the bad boy Bothwell has still not been finalized.
While Season 4 of Reign has been picked up by CW and there is news of casting and plot circulating on the internet, there has been no news about the release date of Reign 4. The fans of Reign had thought that CW would include the series in their fall line-up, but Reign Season 4 was kept out. Reign Season 4 was expected to be released this year, but that doesn’t look like a possibility anymore.
Yibada has reported that CW decided to push the series back to make way for more popular series. While Reign had started out on a strong note, the third season didn’t enjoy high ratings. There were shows like The Originals and The 100, which fared better than Reign Season 3 and hence Reign Season 4 was pushed back to the 2017 summer line up.
There are rumors that Reign Season 4 might be slotted for a summer release since there is less competition during that time, and the network feels that delaying the release might make the ratings better.
