Motorola Moto G3: Set to Get Android Marshmallow, Water Resistant and Improved Battery Life, More Details

The latest news from the world of smartphones is that Motorola is going to get an Android Marshmallow update for its Moto G series. Even though there has been no official confirmation about which version of Moto G is likely to get the update first, but the rumors suggest that Moto G3 is likely to get the Android Marshmallow update first.

Yibada has reported that Moto G3 is going to get the Marshmallow update at the end of this year. Moto G series got the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on September 29th. Android Origin reported that Moto G2 is going to get the update in January or February next year, while Moto G is going to get in only after that.

After the Android 5.1.1 update that the Moto G is going to get, the device should be upgradable to Marshmallow. The Android 5.1.1 update will also fix some of the problem related to the Stage Fright bug.

Marshmallow will be rolled out by Google in its Nexus 5X. The first device with the Marshmallow update from Motorola will be the Moto X Style, which will also be known as Moto X Pure. Moto G3 will be followed by a long list of smartphones like the Moto X 2014 and Moto Droid Turbo.

Motorola has always been the one company that has rolled out the software update at the earliest with its phones and hence the insiders from the industry believe that this time would be the same.

With the Marshmallow update, the phones will see some new changes. One of them will include a home screen that can be rotated, an advanced setting for making an emergency call, API level 23 and an advanced system of enumeration.

Motorola has stood the test of time since releasing the first GPRS mobile phone. However, Motorola had vanished from the market for a good number of years but resurfaced like a phoenix.

Moto G went on to become the largest selling phone in the last year and a half. With great features and affordable pricing, Motorola captured the market share from the giants Samsung and Apple.

Moto G was a huge success and soon Moto G2 was launched making necessary changes and developments with recommendations from the users, and now Motorola is ready to roll out the Moto G3.

Motorola has gone ahead to make quite a few changes in Moto G3. The first thing that the users will notice while handling a Moto G3 is that the phone has replaced the plastic cover that the earlier two versions had.

Yes, Motorola still has plastic covers, but the look and feel are completely different. The cover is more rugged and rigid and provides a better grip than the previous versions.

Moto G3 has a 5-inch display and unlike the other phones in the market that are on the race to become the slimmest phone ever, Motorola is away from it. The phone has a dimension of 142.1 mm X 72.4 mm, with a 6 mm thickness. It might not be slim, but the phone fits comfortably in your hand.

Like all Motorola phones, Moto G3 also has a non-removable battery. The battery has been given a much-needed boost. Even after extensive use throughout the day, the low battery warning is not a common event. Moto G3 comes equipped with a micro SD card slot that allows the users to expand the memory of the device from 8 GB or 16 GB to 32 GB.
