Modern Family Season 7: Gloria Goes for Jury Duty, Jay Rescued by Joe, Claire Messed Up at Work, And More!

Think chaotic and fun, think Modern Family. Modern Family viewers know what a colorful character Gloria (Sofia Vergara) is. In Modern Family Season 7 she has finally got her American citizenship and she is determined to make her mark as a good citizen of the great nation.

In the fifth episode of the season, titled The Verdict, the viewers will see Gloria getting involved with jury duties. When Jay (Ed O’Neil) finds out about Gloria being part of jury duty, he tries to stop her from going ahead with it and viewers are well aware of how that would have gone.

Jay gives up after Gloria tells that he is a bad American for wanting her to step back from jury duty. Gloria goes ahead with her planned mission and Jay is left to take care of Joe’s pre-school Learnin’ Barn and Jay isn’t happy about being in that situation.

Jay in spite of himself starts to enjoy the time and loves listening to the story of Larry the Lonely Leopard. He also gets teased, but his son comes to his rescue and saves the day.

Gloria’s enthusiasm gets her kicked out from the jury and with nothing to work on, she spends time with Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). Cam and Mitch are having their own problem.

The two are having a party and Mitch invites his friend Raymond to the party, which is not appreciated by Cam. Cam doesn’t like that Raymond’s brooding over his recent breakup is affecting the other guests at the party.

Mitch feels for Raymond and tries to help him out, confessing to Gloria that the reason why he feels for Raymond is because he knows that if Cam ever leaves him then he will end up being like Raymond, who simply sits all day long brooding and moping about the failed relationship.

Gloria makes Mitch realize that in case of a breakup, it won’t be Mitch who would be brooding like Raymond, but Cam. Claire (Julie Bowen) has been having a tough time at work.

She has been shown the cold shoulder by all the employees since she tried to pass on her own designs and rubbed the creative team the wrong way.

It’s “Bring Your Daughter to Work Day” and Claire tries to make things better at the office while making sure that her Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Alex (Ariel Winter) is impressed by their mother at work.

Luke (Noa Gould) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) have the whole day with Phil and they have a lot of crazy fun while on community service from school. Phil Dunphy is the father that every kid would be embarrassed to have. He has crazy ideas and is always hell bent on executing them.

In the previous episode, he had found some duck eggs and was determined to hatch them and raise his own duck farm. Even though the whole family wasn’t keen on the idea, Mitch thought that it would be a great way to keep Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) occupied.

Lily thought that Phil’s idea is crazy, but once she hears the story about how Phil had found them, she associates it with her own adoption story and becomes more involved.

Unfortunately for Phil, the eggs hatch in front of Claire and imprint on her instead of on him and start following him around. However, this incident teaches Claire that Phil’s enthusiasm and positivity is actually a good lesson and it is a very good way of looking at life.
