During a recent interview with MTV news, Marvel Studios’ head honcho shared information regarding the plot and production updates on most of the Phase 3 movies. He talked about the movies that have been lined up by Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the release of Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. According to Fiege, they are in the preliminary stages of finding an actress to lead the Captain Marvel film, scheduled to open on 2nd November, 2018.
They are searching for writers now and are presently quite close. He further revealed that according to an earlier draft of the script. Captain Marvel was a part of Avengers: Age of Ultron. When asked as to why she was excluded from the movie, Fiege explained that they didn’t wish to introduce her as a totally completed character with a flying costume. According to him, people need to be given an introduction regarding who she is.
In respect to the Spider-Man reboot, it was asked whether Sony and Marvel are considering the Miles Morales iteration. Feige responded that they always felt it should be Peter Parker because they have never seen his MCU version yet. Both Miles and Feige would like to see that first and notice the opportunities for him if it works out successfully. He was also asked whether a non-white character could be playing Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Feige replied that presently the field is quite wide, and the makers are looking for a choice within a certain age range. Unless the studio decides to choose someone completely unknown, they could settle for Jaden Smith as a good casting choice for Spidey.
Meanwhile, Feige also shared production updates on the upcoming Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the main actor. According to him, Scott Derrickson, the director along with the production team is currently scouting. They recently finished looking for possible New York buildings where Doctor Strange could inhabit. The main principal photography will be held in London, and the team is already on their way.
