Martin Apologizes to the Fans for Not Being Able to Complete Winds of Winter, HBO Showrunners Assure Fans That the Series Will Not Spoil the Book!

The clock is ticking and the date for the release of Game of Thrones Season 6 is fast approaching. Usually the release date of Game of Thrones is met with a lot of excitement by the fans of George R. R. Martin’s novel. The reason or this would be that they have already read the books ages away and now have a chance to relive the moments once again.

HBO had based all their previous seasons on the novels from A Song of Ice and Fire series. However, since Martin couldn’t complete the sixth season in five years, the production house had to go ahead with their own story for Season 6. While this was the only option that HBO had, since they had a deadline to meet for the sixth season, the fans of the original novel aren’t happy with it.

Ever since the news of HBO going ahead with Game of Thrones Season 6 with their own story has come out, fans have been urging George R. R. Martin to rush the process of completing Winds of Winter, but the novelist hasn’t budged from his writing pace.

He had initially been a little skeptical about HBO going ahead and making Season 6 with their own ideas. Martin had felt that the sale of Winds of Winter is going to go down since fans will not be willing to find out what he had to say once they see how the story pans out in the television series.

However, as Bustle reported, he has now changed his stand to inform the fans that the book is going to be completely different from what HBO had planned and the series is not going to spoil Winds of Winter for the readers.

HBO had always changed certain aspects of the story from the way it had originally been written in the book and this time since they are going to be completely on their own, martin is confident that what he has planned for Winds of Winter is going to be completely different from what HBO has in mind for Game of Thrones Season 6.

In fact, he feels that fans are going to want to read Winds of Winter after seeing Season 6 since they will want to see where the difference in them are.

According to iDigital Times, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the showrunners of Game of Thrones have come to support the claim that the sixth season of the HBO series is going to be completely different from the story that Martin is working on for Winds of Winter.

Benioff has also come out to assure fans that the series isn’t going to spoil the book. HBO has always diverged from the books, even when they had the story with them and now they didn’t have anything to base their plot on and hence they are perfectly sure that the story is going to be vastly different.

Weiss added that George R. R. Martin is very meticulous about his work and he has created an amazing world and fans should be excited that there are now going to be two very different version of the story and they are now at the liberty to pick the one that they like the better.
