Additional Details about Jared Leto’s Joker in Suicide Squad Revealed via New Trailer!

Right now, the focus is very much on Batman vs. Superman and whether it is terribly/deeply OK. There is a major debate raging on with a lot of people seemingly inclined to appreciate the movie no matter what the critics are saying.

Meanwhile, a new trailer was this year’s DC offering, Suicide Squad, has emerged and it has already surfaced overseas. There is a large amount of recycled material to be noticed. In the first minute or so, the same Bohemian-Rhapsody aided cut of the US trailer will be seen.

However, after that, there are some pretty tantalizing snippets of unseen material, specifically related to the film’s most menacing presence….The Joker. Jared Leto’s Joker has been pushed further towards the center of attraction by the new trailer.

The character will probably have a far more explosive presence in the screen with so many shots in so many different outfits. At the same time, the trailer provides a better shot at Will Smith’s Deadshot in action. He is a cybernetically enhanced assassin with the best marksmanship in the squad.

An extra amount of spark has been added to his character, thanks to his wry sense of humor. At the same time, there are a few more shots of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc.

There is a glimpse of him ripping his shirt off in order to reveal how his regressive atavism, resulted in reptilian-like, armored skin. The film is due to arrive at UK cinemas on 5th August, 2016.

After an interview with Total Film, Suicide Squad Director David Ayer has set the DC Comics fan world in a major buzz. He spoke of Jared Leto’s performance as The Joker in almost messianic terms.

The Oscar-winning Leto is also the frontman of 30 Seconds to Mars and he was tapped back in 2014 to play the iconic role in Warner Bros. film that features iconic DC supervillains.

Gaining the opportunity to be chosen for the role of such a legendary character, immortalized by the likes of Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson, Leto told Billboard, “to take on this nearly Shakespearean character — that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? [He’s] this beautiful disaster of a character — what a big challenge.”

Ayer further added that watching Leto’s performance as The Joker will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. “What Jared has done is absolutely incredible,” he said. “When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, and so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating.”

Meanwhile, a rather interesting theory regarding the identity of Joker in Suicide Squad has cropped up. According to the idea, The Joker is none other than Batman’s very-own sidekick, Robin, who turned mad during one of their adventures and is further determined to get back at his former partner.

The thought was first revealed a few months ago when the wounds on the Joker graffiti-ed costume which was shown in Batman’s Batcave, looked similar to the scars on Jared Leto’s Joker. It is possible that Robin, who was actually killed by The Joker in the 1988 comic has actually become The Joker.

The J under the Joker’s eye is could be a nod towards his past life. Don’t forget that in 2005, the murdered Jason Todd returned as an antihero with a connection to The Joker. However, in that case, he went by the identity of Red Hood. This was further a criminal identity used by The Joker before he turned bat shit crazy. See what I did there!
