Do you remember the kid from Home Alone? It was Macaulay Culkin who played the role of the little kid Kevin McCallister and rose to fame. Culkin is going to be back in the movies after a break of over 9 years. Macaulay Culkin had decided to retire from his active Hollywood career after he reached stardom at a very young age.
Macaulay Culkin had maintained that he doesn’t want to be a part of the acting career and had instead focused on the music industry. He had even been a part of a band called The Pizza Underground, of which he was the frontman. The musical venture didn’t go as planned.
The Pizza Underground was a band that parodied the songs that were created by The Velvet Underground, but only with words related to pizza. Macaulay seeing that his music career will not make a turn for the better decided to take matters seriously while he still had time and decided to try his luck in acting, from where he received his fame.
He had been seen around in different television shows like The Jim Gaffigan Show and the Kings, but he hasn’t been part of the industry actively. He recently appeared in a web series created by Jack Dishel, called Dryvrs. In the web episode, Macaulay Culkin plays the role of McCallister from Home Alone. He is now married and drives an Uber. Culkin’s McCallister looked disheveled with long hair and beard.
McCallister picks up his passenger, played by Dishel himself and talks about the traumatic incidents of being left alone at home while his family went away on holidays. Culkin’s Kevin McCallister says that the childhood experience had a detrimental impact on his life. The Home Alone spoof by the actor wasn’t very good and the actor didn’t do any justice to the role that gave him so much.
In 2007 Macaulay Culkin was seen in his first Hollywood full length feature film since Home Alone. Fans were not very happy because it was only a minor role. Sex and Breakfast, as the film was titled didn’t harness his talent as the Home Alone series did and fans are waiting for him to make a more decent comeback.
Master Herald reported that Macaulay Culkin is set to be a part of a film called Adam Green’s Alladin where he will share screen space with Zoe Kravitz and Natasha Lyonne from Orange is the New Black. Before that happens, Macaulay Culkin will be seen on the big screen in the Ben Stiller movie Zoolander 2 come February.
Adam Green’s Alladin will see rocker Adam Green playing the titular role of Alladin from the Arabian Nights. The film, written by Adam Green for over two years will take a subversive look at the popular tale, where Alladin’s imagination will create a genie lamp from a 3D printer. Princess Jasmine, will be portrayed as a socialite in the film while the planet.
Alladin and his family are living in a country that is ruled by a corrupt Sultan and he himself comes from a completely dysfunctional family. Macaulay Culkin is set to play the role of Ralph, a rebel leader, while Zoe Kravitz plays the role of a miner and Natasha Lyonne stars as Alladin’s mother.
