That being said, the South Korean tech giant is gearing up for the introduction of its next flagship smartphone to the market which is the LG G5. Various rumors have already started building up on the internet regarding the said device.
The LG G5 is expected to come with an all-metal exterior body and it might be released sometime during the first quarter of the next year.Unlike its predecessor which sported a plastic body, the developers have decided to go for an all-metal body with its next flagship device. Under the hood, the G5 will come packed with the latest offering from Qualcomm- the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Apparently Qualcomm has entered in some kind of an exclusivity deal with Samsung which makes its Snapdragon 820 chipset usable only by Samsung until April 2016.
If indeed this is the case, then LG will have to wait it out until that time to use the Snapdragon 820 in the G5. The processor will be accompanied with an Adreno 530 GPU to handle the graphics department. It is not clear as of yet if the G5 will come with 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
It will reportedly come with a 5.6-inch screen with PS display and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with an impressive pixel density of 640-ppi.
The G5 will sport a 20megapixel rear camera along with an 8megapixel selfie-snapper on its front. Both the cameras will come packed with impressive features like laser autofocus and smile face and multi-gesture detection technology which will help them churn out excellent quality images.
The fingerprint scanner is increasingly becoming a common feature for high-end phones. However, with the G5, LG might up the standards to a new high with the introduction of an iris scanner in the device.
Rumors are suggesting that the iris scanner that the device will come with will be developed by Irience, a renowned biometrics company in Korea.
It will also come with a heart rate sensor, a pressure sensor, and USB Type-C. An IR Blaster will be placed on the top of the device. Leaked images of the LG G5 shows that the SIM slot will be placed on the right side of the device and it will have bottom-facing speakers.
An inbuilt microSD card slot will allow for the expansion of the internal memory of the device by using external microSD card.
With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow already available for its predecessor LG G4, it is highly likely that the G5 will come with the said Android version out of the box.
Another popular website claims that the device will come with dual rear cameras, a feature that will certainly make the device a standout among the crowd of high-end smartphones. According to the tech site, the LG G5 will come with a 16megapixel and an 8megapixel camera located on its back.
The news of dual rear camera has resulted in an increased amount of anticipation for the device and fans are keen to find out how the dual cameras will work towards bringing about a difference in the images captured by the device.
A powerful 4000 mAh non-removable battery will be used to power the smartphone and it will reportedly also feature Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology for the purpose of fast charging.
The Quick Charge technology is gradually becoming a common feature in the world of high-end smartphones. It is a handy feature that lets the user charge up the battery of his device from nil to 85% in a short time of 35 minutes.
