Legend Of Zelda For Wii U Faces A Release Delay, Is The Upcoming Nintendo NX Console Responsible For This Delay? Let’s See!

Recently, Legend of Zelda for Wii U was delayed to 2017 and this is a major mistake for Nintendo game developers. First of all, gamers’ trust is decimated to varying degrees with such delays. As it is, the situation with Legend of Zelda is somewhat different when it comes to the delay. This title experienced three different release dates during the course of its public existence.

These three release dates where spread across three different years. After a certain point, this gets rather insulting and gamers start thinking that nothing from Nintendo can be trusted anymore. Nintendo should be really concerned about this since the company is basically one more console failure away from gravely altering its business model. Gamers have been lied to about Legend of Zelda for quite some time now.

After such treatment from the company, how can people stay interested about the upcoming NX console? Will this device turn out to be the console-portable hybrid that Nintendo fans have been waiting for? With increasing delays from Nintendo, fan expectations in the hardware and software department have been insulted to a certain extent.

Even though nothing was confirmed by Nintendo, fan theories suggest that Legend of Zelda for Wii U has already been developed and would have been released this year. However, the main reason behind its delay is the upcoming NX console.

If that is the case, many Wii U gamers feel they have been wronged. According to general assumptions, people still playing on the Wii U console are some of the most ardent Nintendo fans. This is not a group that should feel insulted especially when Nintendo is preparing to launch a new console.

Sadly, in all this fiasco, Nintendo has no holiday lineup to boast of, from either first or third parties. In the absence of Legend of Zelda for Wii U, this is exactly what happened. This is quite unexpected from a mega hardware maker.

As it is, Microsoft and Sony are simply dominating the grandest shopping days of the year. Nintendo’s plans about releasing Legend of Zelda and the NX console as soon as possible could end up backfiring. PlayStation Neo, PlayStation VR and Xbox 1.5 are already on the way and gamers are starting to get more comfortable without Nintendo.

Nintendo and its upcoming title have been put in jeopardy with this deadly trend.  Meanwhile, any game will start attracting a certain amount of stigma after its release date has been thrown around for quite some time. When developers announce a single delay, it is easily digested but repeated delays spanning over three years is definitely a bad deal.

Nintendo revealed in a statement that the latest installment in the classic Legend of Zelda series will release simultaneously on Wii U and NX. Recent reports indicate that both versions of the game have been developed in tandem. Nintendo admitted that developers need more time to polish the game and it will launch in 2017. It will also be the focus of Nintendo’s presence at E3.

Series producer Eiji Aonuma replied that he was busy in response to a question asked in the latest Famitsu. Eiji replied that when they did Skyward Sword for the Wii U, he was in charge of character dialogues and in-game text during the later stages of development.

According to him, the game has really taken shape which means that overall, it is progressing well.

He further explained that Ocarina of Time has always been the base of their secret sauce but the change in flavor will be similar to the transition from Japanese food to Western food, which is bound to surprise the gamers.
