Usain Bolt has been winning and now his country-mate from Jamaica, Elaine Thompson, went on to win gold in the 200 m wire to wire. She defeated Netherland’s Dafne Schippers who slipped just before crossing the finish line. With this win, Thompson goes on to win the event in two consecutive Olympics games.
BBC reported that Formula 1 might be included in Olympics. The F1 is one of the greatest sporting events in the world and now with the International Olympic Committee accepting their governing body, FIA; there is a chance that the sport might be a part of the 2020 Olympics. Given that there are some top drivers representing different countries, the event could see some pure car racing.
With the next Olympics set to be organized in Tokyo, the Fuji Speedway, which is the Japanese Grands Prix, could easily be available for the racing. Reports suggest that Olympics is about athletic endeavors, but then the ancient Olympic Games had chariot racing.
The event saw chariot drivers racing for seven to twelve laps. Keeping this in mind, it is possible for F1 to be considered as an Olympic event even though it is a motor racing event.
