InnoGames received a new lease of life after branching out into the mobile gaming genre. The company globally launched the game Tribal Wars in 2006. The game is very successful in the often-overlooked browser-games scene. The German developer still enjoys a significant number of players on the platform.
However introducing the legacy titles on the mobile platform, games like Grepolis and Forge of Empires has generated significant returns on the new platform. From the looks of it InnoGames have finally completed the transition to becoming a developer, strictly for the mobile platform.
The firm is presently hiring in some different positions. PocketGamer.biz talked to Andreas Giesa, the HR Director regarding the studio’s company preferences and the available vacancies. When asked about InnoGames background and what they do, Andreas replied that they have been making browser-based FTP games since 2007.
However according to him they go all the way back to 2003. During that time brothers Hendrik and Eike Klindworth along with Michael Zillmer their childhood friend gave rise to Tribal Wars. It was a game they intended to play with their friends.
In a short span of time Tribal Wars gained a lot of popularity among a larger audience. The three of them decided to create a company back in 2007, so as to the successes achieved.
Andreas revealed that they considered the strong foundation of Grepolis and Forge of Empires, their browser-only titles and decided to bring their games to the mobile platform during the recent years.
Currently they are only focused on developing for the mobile platform. Regarding revenue and popularity the mobile platform has proved to be a major success during many years of testing. With their titles they were able to reach a broader audience base.
The company has numerous projects in the pipeline that they are creating with Unreal Engine and Unity.
The company is looking forward to releasing these titles shortly. They have 40 positions open and are presently hiring for senior game designers and developers, basically in, C#, C++, Unity and 3D artists.
They are also hiring for other areas like performance marketing, QA and community management. All such open positions are available on their company website.
When asked about the type of candidates they are looking for, Andreas replied that they are searching for people who are passionate about what they do and who wish to be members of a very collaborative atmosphere.
According to him people in InnoGames prefer to live by their core values which include sustainability, simplicity, and open information sharing. Such values should be important to all potential candidates.
