George R.R Martin Talks about His Writing Pace and Bittersweet Endings, Drops Hint Suggesting Winds of Winter Might Already Be In Publishing House!

The Game of Thrones creator George R.R Martin doesn’t wish to be rushed when it comes to the release of Winds of Winter. This 67 year old actor earlier revealed that the upcoming novel will be released sometime in early 2016. However, keep in mind that a solid release date is yet to be announced.

Fans are pretty excited since GRRM promised that the ending to this installment will be rather bittersweet. This is a highly anticipated installment in his ‘A Song of Ice and Fire series’  but the writer revealed that there is no way in which he could write it any faster or make sure the book releases earlier.

However, he decided to tease his fans a bit by releasing the official ‘Game of Thrones’ coloring book. He was asked about the current plot course of Game of Thrones TV series to which Martin replied that he never expected the TV series to catch up or align with that of his novel series.

All of his great followers are waiting for about 4 years to make sure that Winds of Winter releases. Meanwhile, George R.R Martin hinted that he likes bittersweet endings rather than happy endings and as a result, a lot of fans are immensely excited to see the outcome of their favorite characters.

The popular HBO hit series, ‘Game of Thrones’ was actually inspired from his book series. In case of the TV series, it will return in spring for its 6th season. However, it’s been four years since the last installment ‘A Dance with Dragons’ was released and Winds of Winter is still nowhere to be seen.

The most important thing that fans are looking forward to, in the upcoming book, is the fate of Jon Snow. What’s going to happen to him? There have already been speculations suggesting that Melisandre will be responsible for resurrecting him.

Will he remain the same person or his traits will change if that happens? Right now, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered but yet to be offered. In the end, a lot of characters are hoping that the well-loved character makes it out alive.

Sadly, George R.R Martin is writing in his own designated pace and as a result, it will be some time before the fate of Jon Snow is finally revealed to the world. Be sure that nothing can make him write any faster.

The author directly said, “I’ve been hearing them come up behind me for years, and the question is, How can I make myself write faster? I think, by now, the answer is, I can’t,” According to Vulture, he writes with the speed he wishes to write at and the things which take place in the show are not going to change what happens in his books.

Martin revealed that he started the books back in 1991 but it was on 2008 when he first had a meeting about his books being adapted into the TV screens. He further cited that his books actually got a 17-year old head start. The TV series and the books could be heading in either the same or different direction and they have all used the material provided in the books.

However, Martin already has an idea regarding the ending of HBO’s Game of Thrones TV series. He still remains rather secretive about sharing the facts. He simply declared that fans need to have some hope. Does this mean, fans should actually hope for Jon Snow’s return? Is this actually a confirmation that he is returning? We’ll just have to wait and see.
