The confirmation was made by himself on Twitter while declaring that he cannot ask for partners better than Vin Diesel, Neal, and Universal. He is known for various great movies like ‘Straight Outta Compton’, ‘Law Abiding Citizen’ and ‘Be Cool’.
The producers along with Vin Diesel wanted to bring in James Wan, who turned Fast and Furious 7 as the fifth grossing movie of all time. Sadly, the director decided to opt out. Wan said that he would be focusing more on the sequel to his popular horror film, The Conjuring.
According to reports, Justin Lin was also offered the position of Fast and Furious 8’s director but he is presently quite busy with the next Star Trek film. Fast and Furious 8 has a release date in April 2017, which is more than one and a half years away, but there are already a lot of casting rumors running on the internet.
Most of these speculations suggest the addition of new female characters to either Dom’s team or the one against them. One of them is Eva Mendes, who already played a part in Too Fast Too Furious while appearing as a Cameo in Fast Five, as Custom Agent Monica Fuentes.
