Derrick Rose: Injuries Changed His Perspective, Not Taking Free-Throws, And More!

A career altering knee injury has changed Derrick Rose’s perspective about the postseason basketball. He has become more appreciative of where he is and what he does and isnot taking things lightly anymore.

Chicago Bulls stole the show in the Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers with 99-92. Derrick has a huge role to play with 25 points in the 32 minutes of the game he was out there. This win gave the Chicago Bulls the opportunity to reach the semifinals of the Eastern Conference for the first time since 2011.

Talking about his injury he said that he felt something in his nerves, a tingling sensation that was going all the way from his shoulders to the finger tips. It was a feeling that he had never felt before. The sensation passed away in the next five-ten minutes. He said that he wasn’t very worried about it.

The fact that the injury wasn’t a major one is a relief for the Chicago Bulls who are aware of Derrick Rose’s spate of injuries. Ross believes that his injuries, three serious knee injuries that he had suffered, have made me very grateful for the game.

He doesn’t see it as a game anymore, but as life. He spends a large amount of time in the gym, trying to prepare his body and help it come out stronger after a major injury and then the whole process of recovering, helps him focus on what he has to lose and what he has accomplished and this pushes Derrick Rose to give his best.

In the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Derrick was exceptional. He didn’t let the fact that the Cavalier players were trying to block him or that Cleveland Cavalier’s LeBron James was matching up to him. Rose feels that it is an honour to be there playing for his team and he tries to roll with it.
