There were also rumors that Jason Statham and Luke Evans would team up in the upcoming Fast and Furious 8 movie but from the looks of it, Universal will be taking things in a slightly different direction as they are looking to cast a new female villain.
They are still working on the script at the moment, but Deadline reveals that Gray and writer Chris Morgan are putting this character into the story, and they have their eyes currently set on Charlize Theron.
The actress is definitely set for vehicle mayhem after being Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. However, this is still quite an unexpected movie for the star. At the same time, it will be awesome to see her playing a high-octane role!
Fast and Furious 8 will be released in the UK on 14th April 2017. Vin Diesel revealed to his fans in Facebook that Furious 8 will give rise to a new trilogy of films that will ultimately put an end to the franchise with Furious 10.
“Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision… they have been like family… I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga,” he said.
