According to Entertainment Weekly, Jon M. Chu, the director of Now You See Me 2 said that Walter’s going to be a character, who is going to be an anti-magician. He loves magic, but can’t do it at all.
Walter has been so badly burnt by magic that he has taken solace in the power of science. He has turned science into a power that helps him perform magic with it.
Walter has gained complete control of the Horsemen, which includes, Eisenberg, Harrelson, Franco and Caplan and makes their life very difficult. Walter has become so powerful that the Horsemen will have to figure out a way to come out of the clutches of Walter’s magic.
Walter will threaten the Horsemen into performing an illusion that will be impossible. He sends them to China without their control and forces them to steal the key that will be the gateway to the security of all the computers in the world.
The Horsemen’s only hope of clearing their name will be to complete the stunt and reveal the mastermind behind it all. As Jesse Eisenberg’s character puts it, they will go out with a show that people will never forget.
Chu said that while Radcliffe might play the role of a person who fumbles with cards, he is a very meticulous actor. For the table read, where the cast members sit around a table reading their lines out loudly, Radcliffe had turned up with his lines memorized. This goes on to show how precise and far ahead he is when it comes to his work.

Michael Cain had confirmed in an interview that Daniel Radcliffe will be coming on board to play the role of his son.
